Are You A Fair Weather Runner?

Before I starting running on a regular basis (less than 2 yrs ago), I'd run if it was beautiful and sunny outside.

Rain? Forget about it. Winter? Yeah, I wouldn't even consider it between Halloween and Easter. I was a fair weather runner.

Today I was doing my last long run before a half marathon next weekend and it was unseasonably warm. 74 degrees in January! (It'll be 10 degrees again on Wednesday). As I was running, thinking about how the heat was sapping my energy, I realized that I'm STILL a fair weather runner....I just switched seasons.

Now I LOVE running in the winter...snow, rain, wind...all of it. In fact, I think the PERFECT running temperature is 40 degrees. And running in inclement weather is exhilerating. Once it gets above 75, I start to wilt. Summer runs take place early morning, late on night or on the treadmill.

Have you seen this Winter Warrior video? It slays me.
